Tess is a Licensed Masters Social Worker in Virginia. She works with individuals and groups. Tess is White, cis, straight and identifies as female. Tess adopts a holistic approach to therapy, integrating a range of evidence-based modalities tailored to meet the unique needs of each person. At the core of Tess’ work is a commitment to creating a safe and affirming space where clients feel understood and empowered. She believes in meeting individuals where they are on their journey and helping them meet their goals.

Tess approaches therapy with sensitivity and respect, recognizing the uniqueness of each person’s story and fostering a collaborative therapeutic relationship centered on growth and healing.  She aims to help individuals use their strengths to navigate difficult life events and develop effective coping skills. Tess has acquired valuable experience in various settings, including the criminal justice system, outpatient substance use programs, and college mental health services. Her work primarily revolves around supporting young adults and adults facing challenges related to anxiety, depression, substance use, body image, and life transitions.

Tess offers clients a comprehensive and effective treatment experience.  She is trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).  Her therapeutic approach also includes cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, and solution-focused therapy. She holds a bachelor’s degree in International Affairs with a concentration in contemporary cultures and societies. She then continued her education at the University of Connecticut, earning a Master of Social Work with a concentration in working with individuals, groups, and families.
